  Not bad for the Milton area. Although there have been quite a few disappointments at this place. Usually the mashed potatoes had an taste to them. If you don't want to drive to Pensacola, this is the best spot in Milton. After that, it's Publix for some fried chicken.

  Blackwater Bistro is a good restaurant to go to if you're wanting to have a nice meal in Milton and not wanting to drive all the way to Pensacola. However, it has been disappointing whenever we've gone - not every time, but the majority of the time. The food is a little overpriced while some of the food lacks flavor or it doesn't taste like high quality. For example, they offer steak tuna - which when we first had it it tasted great - but 90% of the time that we get it now it tastes like imitation tuna or something that is lower quality.
  
  Don't get me wrong, it's a neat place to go to and you should go at least once if you've just moved to the area (militart), but it's not the best Milton has to offer. It is very popular with military crowds and can get a little too crowded (the building is an old, renovated house). It's worth going to to try it out and see for yourself, but it's not a favorite.

  Nice outdoor dining area, good selection on the menu, and has a good upscale but local vibe. On Wednesdays they have $1 draft beers (including a couple craft selections) for military patrons, and when I went last Friday around 4:30 pm I also received this deal (thank you so much!). I had the cheeseburger which was big and tasty ($12ish). Entrees averaged about $20. From poking around Milton, I don't think there is any real competition to Blackwater Bistro, but it would still have pleased even had there been some.
